Mishell has practiced and studied traditional Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga, as well as medicine ball since 1998. Her emphasis is on adhering to the ancient Yoga traditions passed down to her. Practicing yoga has not been physically easy for Mishell. When she was child, Mishell suffered an injury that paralyzed the entire left side of her body. From this injury, a long and humbling journey began. She had to retrain her mind and body to do even the simplest things, such as walking. As an adult, Mishell has found that yoga has been a key element in developing balance, coordination and strength, both physically and emotionally. Her style of teaching yoga is very hands on, finding that even subtle corrections lead to greater gains. |
